is 90% of the work, as it's been said. I've noticed a trend in myself, that I tend to work on projects until they're almost finished, only to abandon them. Case and point, iDNAR's CG Girl. It took me a year of prodding myself to finally get her to a point I was happy with. Then I post up straight, boring, default poses of her and nothing else.

I decided to make her in 3D because she's a cool character, and I wanted to bring her into the third dimension. I built a rig for the model and everything, but never bothered to weight the model and pose it. Basically because I remember rigging and weighting to be a horridly painstaking practice. I sat and watched a few demo reels with Chrystal, and felt poked by it. Seeing the reels showed me the rigging doesn't have to be anything phenomenal, just enough to be believable and functional for animation.

I have so many projects I'm inches away from finishing that I have let slip through the cracks, when I could have a fairly decent reel of my own. So I rigged the character and put her in some poses. I've built a global illumination lighting system to render her in, since good lighting makes everything look better. Once I get a few bugs worked out, I'm going to post some of the renders that show her as I had originally intended. Probably do a short animation sequence for her that would be demo reel appropriate.
